Saturday, February 25th, 2017 · 251 Comments

Rafa Benitez has just announced his team for the game against Bristol City this afternoon at St. James’ Park and Perez and Atsu come into the side as we had expected.

But Atsu comes in for Gouffran and not for Matt Ritchie who starts the game even though he is on 9 yellow cards..

This Experienced Playmaker Could Be Bargain Buy In Summer

Saturday, February 25th, 2017 · 38 Comments

During the last week of August last year it seemed a certainty that Alan Judge would join Newcastle, even though the player was still recovering from a double fracture of the right leg.

But then Newcastle found out that Alan would not be fit until the turn of the year and so it seems they pulled out of the deal.

Alan is in light training at the moment at Brentford, but he has still has not played for the Brentford first team this season, so that seems like a good decision by Newcastle.

DeAndre Yedlin met with the press yesterday just before Rafa’s press conference at 1:00 pm and the 23 year-old American full-back talked about what Rafa has been telling them about the game this afternoon against Bristol City.

It looks an easy game on paper, but as we all know that’s when there can be some big surprises, so we cannot take anything for granted.

Bristol City Will Be Difficult – Could Be Banana Skin

Saturday, February 25th, 2017 · 4 Comments

Newcastle will play Bristol City this afternoon at St. James’ Park and with the opposition being 4th bottom of the league table we are expected to win the game fairly easily.

We hope that happens of course but in the past we haven’t done well at home against some lowly placed teams – like Wolves and Blackburn as two examples.

Against Blackburn on  26th November we were on a 9 game winning streak and a win at home in that game would have been a club record for Newcastle – 10 wins in a row.

Rafa Supports This Player – Shows Man-Management Brilliance

Saturday, February 25th, 2017 · 3 Comments

There have been many rumors surrounding Aleksandar Mitrovic leaving Newcastle this summer and Rafa Benitez addressed that in his press conference yesterday.

He suggested the reason for that was that his agents were interested in doing business in the summer.

Of course that would also mean they can make some money for themselves if Mitro moves and gets a new (big) deal at some other club.

Rafa May Change Modus Operandi For Next Four Games

Saturday, February 25th, 2017 · 9 Comments

In the next four games starting at home against Bristol City this afternoon it will be interesting to see just how much Rafa rotates his team as these next four matches are crunch matches.

After Bristol City we have Brighton, Huddersfield and Reading all away from home in an 11 day stretch starting on Tuesday night.

The results of those games could determine just how easy or difficult promotion will be for Newcastle this season and we are hoping we can do (very) well in the next four games.
